Double Sheath Kevlar Yarn Reinforced ADSS Fiber Optic Cable

Description

ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) cables utilize a loose tube stranded construction to ensure optimal

performance and durability. The optical fibers are securely housed in high modulus plastic tubes filled with

a water-resistant compound, effectively shielding them from moisture. These tubes, along with fillers, are

stranded around a central strength member made of non-metallic FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), creating

a compact and circular cable core.

To enhance protection, the core is filled with a compound and enclosed in a thin polyethylene (PE) inner

sheath. Additional reinforcement is provided by a layer of stranded aramid yarn applied over the inner sheath.

Finally, the cable is completed with an outer sheath, which can be either polyethylene (PE) for standard

applications or anti-tracking (AT) for environments with high electrical stress.

This robust construction ensures that ADSS cables are highly durable, moisture-resistant, and capable of

withstanding various environmental conditions. Suitable for both aerial and underground installations, these

cables offer reliable performance

across a wide range of applications.

Application

1. The design of ADSS optical cables meticulously incorporates the real-time conditions of overhead power

lines, ensuring optimal performance and durability in such environments.

2. PE outer sheaths are utilized for power lines below 110kV, while AT outer sheaths are employed for power

lines operating at 110kV and above to provide enhanced protection.

3. Specific design elements such as the quantity of aramid yarns and the stranding process are precisely

tailored to effectively meet diverse span requirements. This ensures the reliable operation of the optical

cable across various installation scenarios.
